Holiday Train

A few years ago, when I was a student at Winona State University, I was able to experience my first Holiday Train night! It was spectacular - the entire train is lit up in Christmas lights, a band plays, Santa visits, and so many members of the community come out to donate food to the local Salvation Army!

This year, several years since I have seen the train, the Holiday Train was going to make a stop in Austin :) I was THRILLED!!!

Don & Sharon were down, because they were going to watch Callie all day Friday for us (staff holiday party after work!) So we had them come out with us :) I don't think they knew what to expect, but I knew it wouldn't be lame :)

Callie enjoyed it! She REALLY liked the train engine and didn't want to get off the step! She kept saying "Choo Choo, Choo Choo"!!!

It was a very long walk, because I was the genius who parked on the WRONG side of the train - and in the middle. So we had to walk all the way to the engine and back down around to the other side...but it was so much fun!

Here are some pictures of the train :)

The band playing and singing Christmas music! They were all from Canada, so it was fun to listen to them talk about their travels :)

Grandpa "papa" and Sharon helping Callie walk along the tracks...it sure was bumpy :)

So pretty - I just love the Holiday Train and I wish it would come through Austin EVERY year :)

If you ever have a chance to go see the train, please do! And remember, bring food along for those in need...especially during this time of the year :)

Merry Christmas :)
