So much going on...not sure where to start!

Where shall we begin?

Josh and I have both started coaching golf. I coach junior high girls golf, and Josh coaches junior high boys golf. I have 15 golfers, Josh has 50! Looks like I am getting the better end of the deal on this gig :) It's a great way for us to spend some time together-and get paid for it!

I hosted a baby shower for my good friend Kristen Becker recently! It was such a great time, and she is going to be such a good mom! I can't believe she is going to have a baby soon...April 2nd is her scheduled c-section...we'll see if she makes it that long!

Let's see, what else is new...

The Austin Packer Boys Basketball Team made it to the 2nd round of sections, but unfortunately, they did not win. The exciting part was watching the game with my parents! They drove down to Rochester to spend the day with Josh and I! We all went out for a delicious meal at Outback :) YUMMY!!!! Then the following weekend we headed up to the cities and had dinner with Josh's mom! The three of us saw the movie "I love you, man" - super good! I highly recommend it :)

Josh and I have gone in on Twins Season tickets with my mom and dad! We figured we don't have any kids yet, so that would be some extra fun money that we could use towards season tickets!

The BEST news is...We have tickets to the FINAL Twins game in the Metrodome...SO EXCITING! And yet so sad...

I have been super busy working on my degree. There is A LOT of work involved, but I am loving every minute of it. Josh is great too! He helps out around the house and lets me work endless hours in the office!

For now, that's it :) Short and sweet...

The Birds are gone!!! Fly away bird, fly away bird!

If you have been to our house, you know that we have furniture from my Godmother. Granted we were so thankful for her generous gift, the fabric just didn't suit our style! It was from the 1970's, had wood trim and a wood back piece, and it had BIRDS on it! Blue birds...

It was very comfortable and in mint condition, but it just wasn't what we wanted.
Knowing this fun fact about us, Josh's dad offered to give us their furniture because He and Sharon were getting NEW furniture!

1. New furniture for us that didn't have birds on it
2. Easy to slip cover to make them look like new
3. HECK YES!

So today, Josh and I went up to celebrate his dad's birthday and then pick up some furniture. Blake met us there and showed us his mastery tow strappin skills!

Let me tell you - I was good at just taking pictures :) (with my new camera that Josh bought for my early birthday present - April 27th in case you didn't know!!!)...

We drove all the way BACK to Austin like 2 hours later and I enjoyed watching Blake and Josh move furniture around. They put the birds in the garage (although the chair is sill in our house until we sell it...), moved the new furniture in, and even had time to play a little Dr. Mario on the Wii!!

Josh and I went to Target and bought a few things. We bought new slip covers to make it our own, and some accent pieces to bring out some color. This summer we are going to paint our walls and get some new window treatments...but it's a work in progress!

One day, we will own furniture of our own...but for now, we really appreciate those who give us what we need :)

Flashback

My good friends Blake and Other Josh came down to visit me this weekend. We played a lot of wii and rock band. It was fun remembering all the crazy times we had in college. We made a pledge to get together at least once every couple months because a good time was had by all.

It was just like old times. Blake got screwed in Mario party, Other Josh used the same move over and over again in Super Smash Brothers, and Other Josh did some Animal Crossing fishing. We are trying to convince OJ to get a wii. Then we could all play games together again. If you see him, tell him it is an investment in our friendship.

Sunday morning I was pretty worthless! My tolerance gets so low during basketball season. My wife was so nice and put up with my slobbish ways! We had a great pot roast dinner that was lovingly prepared by Cori. We did get a couple of things hung on the wall which was good, Cori had been patiently waiting for one since our wedding.

Only one week of basketball left for the B squad. I'll still go to the varsity games and help out though as long as they can keep it going. It will be nice for us to have a few weeks off before spring sports start.

This week is read across America week at school. We are both choosing Mo Willams as our author. Check out pigeonpresents.com for a good laugh.
